Join Spirit of Women and Yale University School of Medicine to help make a difference in the survival of women from heart attacks and increase national visibility of your hospital as a contributor to this worthy research cause.
Spirit of Women is an inaugural partner with the Yale University School of Medicine VIRGO (Variations in Recovery: Role of Gender on Outcomes in Young AMI Patients) Study, sponsored by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. The Study will explore what accounts for premature heart disease in women and why they experience worse outcomes than men of similar age with heart disease. The multidisciplinary research team from Yale University School of Medicine, in collaboration with leading investigators from other institutions, will address questions ranging from genetics to clinical care and outcomes.
Full information regarding the VIRGO Study is available at virgostudy.com. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to participate in an exclusive Spirit of Women-VIRGO launch webinar, hosted by principal investigator Harlan M. Krumholz, M.D., the Harold H. Hines, Jr. Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology and Public Health at Yale School of Medicine.
Members may indicate their interest in participating with VIRGO by completing a Site Survey and returning it to the study office.
